UK Says It Can't Deport Mallya The efforts of Indian Government to bring back Liquor baron Vijay Mallya hit another roadblock. Its known that Vijay Mallaya who is facing money laundering charges and some other cases on defaulting banks in the country shifted his base to UK few month ago.
Indian Government has revoked his passport and requested the UK government on deportation of Mallya. In a shocking turn of event Britain has told India that it cannot deport Vijay Mallya.
In a written reply to the indian government UK government has informed that a person does not require an individual to hold a valid passport in order to remain in the UK. Britain has made it clear that it cannot deport Vijay Mallya on immediate basis but said that it is and is keen to assist the Government of India.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the decision of UK govt was not surprised him and added that the government is working on Mallya's deportation process. Vijay Mallya is facing allegations of defaulting bank loans of over Rs 9,400 crores and he has allegedly flown to London in March after the banks approached Apex court.
