World's oldest person Passed Away The world's oldest person Susannah Mushatt Jones has died today in New York at age of 116. Susannah Mushatt Jones was born on July 6, 1899 and hold record of world's oldest person. She was suffering from ill health for last ten days and breathed her last today. She was also hold the record of last American to born in the 1800s.
Jones was born in a small farm town near Alabama, in 1899 and she was one of 11 siblings. She graduated from high school in 1922 and later worked as house keeper and caretaker. When asked about her long life secret Jones credited it to getting proper sleep, not smoking and not drinking.
Jones received tributes from the United States House of Representatives "for a remarkable lifetime of exceptional achievement lived during three centuries''. With death of jones the oldest person in world is now Emma Moranoa 113-year-old from Italy.
