TS Govt fixes subsidized prices of pulses seeds
Hyderabad, May 14 (INN): The Telangana Government on Saturday accorded permission for the sale price and subsidy pattern in respect of certain seeds for distribution to the farmers under different schemes during Kharif 2016.
Keeping in view the declaration of the year 2016-17 as 'International Year of Pulses', Government, in a review meeting held on May 13, it was decided to promote the pulses i.e., Red gram, Green gram and Black gram crops in place of Cotton during Kharif 2016. Accordingly, the State Government has decided to supply Red gram, Green gram and Black gram seeds to the farmers on subsidy as per the net sale price fixed during Kharif 2015, without enhancement for the benefit of the farming community and to bring more area under pulses cultivation during Kharif 2016.
The State Government has fixed the price of Red gram seeds at Rs. 6,230 per Quintal; Green gram for Rs. 6,235 per Qtl. and Black gram for Rs. 5,470 per Qtl.
