85.48% polling in Palair by-elections Hyderabad, May 16 (INN): Barring minor incidents, the polling for by-elections to Palair Assembly Constituency in Khammam district passed off peacefully on Monday.
About 85.48% of 190,351 voters excercised their franchise to decide the fate of 13 candidates who were in the fray. The main contest was between R&B Minister and TRS nominee T.Nageshwara Rao, Congress candidate R.Sucharitha Reddy, widow of the late sitting MLA Ramreddy Venkat Reddy and CPI (M) candidate P. Sudarshan Rao.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the authorities to ensure peaceful conduct of polling in as many as 243 polling stations. The results will be declared on May 19
