Godavari waters to reach Ibrahimpatnam by Friday
Vijayawada, July 15 (INN): The Godavari-Krishna confluence is expected to happen at Ibrahimpatnam by Friday evening.
Prayers have been arranged to mark the occasion by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma and others.
The confluence could not take place although four pumps were opened on July 6 by the Chief Minister. It is expected to happen because more pumps have now been used this time, and after a week all the 24 pumps will be in operation. The Godavari waters flowed up to the Krishna district boundary on Thursday. In all, 8500 cusecs water is expected to be released into the Krishna by the exercise.
