TD government neglecting health services: YSRCP Hyderabad, July 18 (INN): YSR Congress MLA B. Karunakar Reddy came down heavily on the state government over its reported decision to privatize the health and medical services in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the reporters at the party office here on Monday, Karunakar Reddy said that the government has decided to privatize the medical services right from the PHCs in villages to Area Hospitals and District hospitals saying that the services at these hospitals were not good. He said that this itself is the fact that the TD government has neglected the health sector completely throwing the interests of the masses.
The YSRC MLA said that the TD government also neglected the education sector and was closing down numerous government schools in the state. 'The government is closing government schools to benefit the corporate school and now it is privatizing the health services,' he lamented.
He recalled that when former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy launched Aarogyasri scheme, TD had vehemently opposed the move and similarly it also opposed the free power to farmers.
The YSRC MLA warned that his party would launch protests across the state if the government goes ahead with its plan to privatize the health services. He accused the Naidu government of neglecting the poor and urged the people to teach the TD government a befitting lesson in the next elections.
