Modi's visit was a flop show: Uttam

Hyderabad, Aug 8 (INN): Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Hyderabad a completely flop show, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said that Modi's claim on bringing down prices of Urea was a true lie.

Reacting to the PM's claims, Uttam Kumar said that if Centre was serious on the issues of farmers it should have linked the sale of Urea to the international marketing. He alleged that union government has earned crores by the sale of Urea on high prices to the poor farmers across the country. He said, 'Modi government sales petrol on higher prices contrary to the international prices of fuel and ridiculously claims to have sold Urea in a reasonable price.'

Adressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam said that Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao both tried to take credit for the projects that were started during the Congress regime in the State.

Pranahita Chevadla and Bayyaram Steel plants and other contentious issues were more important for the state but neither Modi nor KCR spoke on these issues rather remained silent, he lamented. He alleged that the state government had changed the name of the project to Mission Bhageeratha which was started by the Congress government and named after great leader Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

He lashed out at the state government for laxity in taking proper action against a local BJP MLA who supported beating of Dalits in the name of cow on social media. He alleged that KCR government was strengthening fascist forces in the state.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the entire programme saw the PM and the CM heaping praises on each other. This is an indication that the TRS would sail with the BJP in near future.

Launching a scathing attack on the TRS, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government changed the name of the project undertaken by the Congress government and had it inaugurated by the PM. TRS did nothing towards the state's development. He said that the TRS government was adamant by going ahead with the Mallannasagar Project despite the High Court scrapping the GO 123.

The TPCC leader said a coordination committee meeting and farmers meeting would be held at Adilabad on August 16 and Power Point Presentation on Irrigation Projects would be given the next day.
