AP Brahmin Corporation launches Sindhutai Scheme Hyderabad, Sept 3 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation is glad to announce the launching of a new 'Sindhutai Sapakal Scheme for Education of Orphans and Persons with Special Needs'.
Corporation Chairman I.Y.R. Krishna Rao has announced that orphans and people with special needs (such as mentally or physically challenged, autistic, and so on) from the Brahmin community and residing in Andhra Pradesh will be provided financial support to meet the expenses of their regular education or special education. Assistance for boarding and lodging (that is, hostel and mess charges) will also be provided where necessary, at the discretion of the Corporation. Students and adult inmates of regular institutions of study as well as (government-recognized) special institutions for people with special needs are eligible.
Interested candidates/parents may read the details of the scheme, register and apply online through the Corporation's website www.andhrabrahmin.ap.gov.in.
The scheme has been named after Sindhutai Sapakal of Sanmati Bal Niketan, Pune, who is a role model for persons and institutions taking care of orphans.
A scheme for donations linked to the Sindhutai Scheme, has also been launched. Philanthropists can donate a lump sum amount or undertake to meet the education & related expenses of orphans and people with special needs on a regular and continuous basis. Donors can also select the particular beneficiaries whom they wish to support for a long time. Details and links for registration of donors are available in the Corporation's website.
Krishna Rao has also announced that the corporation will now accept beneficiaries' (under its various schemes) savings accounts in either Andhra Bank or State Bank of India for those staying in Andhra Pradesh. For beneficiaries studying in other states in India outside AP, a savings account in any nationalized bank is accepted.
The financial assistance to students, youth, and pensioners under various schemes of the Corporation is directly credited to the bank account of the beneficiary. Previously only Andhra Bank account was accepted.
