Govt targeting YSRCP leaders: Ambati Hyderabad, Sept 17 (INN): YSR Congress Party alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Government was trying to link party leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy for the violence in Tuni.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, YSRCP spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said alleged that the TD government was trying to undermine the Kapu movement by intimidating those who supported the Kapus' quota stir. He reminded that TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had promised to include Kapus in backward classes within six months of coming to power in the state. Though the TD government completed over two years in the power, it has backtracked on its promise and is now delaying the issue in the name of forming commission for the same, Ambati said.
Ambati said that the state government is punishing YSRC leader Bhumana for meeting Kapu leader Mudragada and extending support for his stir for Kapu quota. Why should Bhumana's name be dragged in Tuni violence, he questioned.
"Chandrababu Government is trying to suppress the opposition by foisting false cases against YSRC leader. Our party will not be afraid of such tactics of government," Ambati said. He also said that the Tuni violence was a result of sheer failure of government and the TD should stop blaming Opposition for the incident.
