TRS Govt failed on all fronts: Shabbir Ali Kamareddy, Sept 18 (INN): Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that the TRS Government has failed on all fronts in the State.
Adressing a massive public meeting in Machareddy on Sunday, Shabbir Ali listed out the major failures of TRS Government. He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao came to power by cheating and deceiving the people of Telangana. "KCR cheated on the promise of making a Dalit CM. He himself became the Chief Minister and completely neglected the SCs. None of other promises made with Dalits have been fulfilled. Instead, they were subjected to humiliation, discrimination and other atrocities. Poor Dalit families are still waiting to get three acres of land promised by KCR," he said while asking the SCs among audience to raise their hands if any of them got three acres land or other benefits. Thousands of Dalits, who were present in the meeting, raised slogans against KCR and told in chorus that they did not get any benefits.
Similarly, Shabbir Ali said that the Muslims and STs were cheated on the promise of 12% reservation. He said KCR did not fulfill a single major promise made with the Muslims and STs. He said no concrete steps were taken to provide 12% reservation for Muslims and STs. "KCR is not serious on giving 12% Muslim and ST reservation. He is still cheating both the communities with fake assurances," he alleged.
Shabbir Ali blamed the TRS Government for present agrarian crisis in the State. Stating that the previous UPA Government waived off over Rs. 73,000 Crore of crop loans in a span of just one month, he said TRS Government has failed to clear crop loans waiver dues even after 27 months. He said that the TRS Government first split the loan dues into four installment so as to keep the indebted farmers trapped for four years. However, the government further split the third installment into four parts and so far cleared only 12.5% of third installment. "Thousands of farmers committed suicide since TRS took over. TRS Government not only neglected their families, but even refused to register FIRs in many cases. Farmers neither got input subsidy, nor any other assistance either from the Central or State Government. Farmers lost four crops in a row and they did not get any help during the ongoing Kharif season," he alleged.
"Double bed room houses is another major promise made by the TRS during elections. Lakhs of poor beneficiaries were misled and forced to believe that they would get the 2BHK units immediately after general elections. Even after 27 months, the government took no steps to fulfill this promise. Shockingly, the State Government did not allocate any funds for 2BHK scheme in this year's budget," said Shabbir Ali.
Shabbir Ali sought an explanation from the State Government on the promise of providing one lakh jobs to youth. While lakhs of youth are eagerly waiting for the job notifications, KCR provided top positions in the government to his family members. He said KCR was successful in eradicating the unemployment of his family members. He said while KCR was extending pension benefits to only one person in a family, he accommodated his son (KTR) and son-in-law (Harish Rao) in the State Cabinet, made his daughter (Kavita) an MP while giving top posts to other relatives and family members.
The Congress leader also listed out other major failures of TRS Government in the State. Turning the public meeting into interactive mode, he asked audience to correct him if his charges were wrong. The crowd, which comprised of thousands of farmers, youth, women and representatives of all castes and communities, agreed with Shabbir Ali's views and said no section of the society was happy with the performance of TRS Government.
He said that the government has completely ignored the welfare of migrant workers. He recalled that as then Minister for NRI Affairs he brought back nearly 1,000 youth of Machareddy who were trapped in Gulf countries. However, he said Minister K. Tarakarama Rao and Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha were visiting Gulf countries only to meet rich investors. The State Government closed down all training centres and neglected the migrant workers and their families, he said.
Earlier, Shabbir Ali led a massive rally in Machareddy which later turned into a public meeting.
