Govt decisions are unscientific: Kodandaram Warangal, Sept 20 (INN): Telangana Political JAC chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram said that the State Government was adopting an unscientific manner in taking up reorganization of districts.
Speaking at public meeting in Jangaon organized to intensify the demand for separate Jangaon district here on Tuesday, Prof. Kodandaram lashed out at the state government stating that it was taking up the process without constituting a committee of legal expert to supervise the process. He said that the State Government had promised to look into the aspirations of the people while reorganizing the districts, but failed to do so. He said that despite people of Jangoan demanding a separate district and even every numerous appeal for the same, the state government failed to look into the demand.
Prof. Kodandaram demanded the government to take the views of all political parties and discuss the issue in Assembly before taking a final call. The government should not take the decision in a hurry on the contentious issue, the TJAC chief felt. In a related development, various social organization in Sircilla town of Karimnagar district called for a two-day bandh on Tuesday demanding creation of separate Sircilla district.
Members of all parties staged protest in front of RTC bus depot in the town and did not allow the RTC bus to ply on road. Business establishments and educational institutions took part voluntarily in the bandh. The all party leaders came down heavily on the state government saying that it promised to create Sircilla district on its own and then went back on the promise. They opined that the town met all the criteria for a district and hence should be created a separate district.
