Congress seeks revocation of section 144 Hyderabad, Sept 22 (INN): Former Minister and TPCC leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Thursday met DGP Anurag Sharma and submitted him a petition seeking revoking of prohibitory order under section 144 in Jangaon town immediately.
It may be motioned here that the section 144 was imposed in the town after violent protests broke out demanding separate Jangoan district in Warangal.
Speaking to media persons later, Lakshmaiah said that the prohibitory orders were in place in Jangoan town for over two months now and this has not go down well with the people of the town. People are facing lot of problem due to the prohibitory orders, the Congress leader said. He said that the people of the town were demanding creation of new district, which TRS chief himself had promised before the formation of the Telangana state.
