ACB unearths 1.5 crore worth assets of mines official Visakhapatnam, Oct 5 (INN): The Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case of Disproportionate Assets against Assistant Director (Vigilance) of Mines and Geology Department Mannem Subrahmanyam.
On credible information, the ACB officials conducted simultaneous searches on Friday at the residence of Subrahmanyam, his relatives and close associates located at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Eluru and Guntur districts.
During the searches one building located at Visakhapatnam, one House at Guntur, one House at Kankipadu, Krishna district, about 20 Acres of Agricultural lands, Gold Ornaments worth Rs. 4.75 lakh, Silver Articles worth about Rs. 50,000, Bank balance of Rs. 2.5 lakh, Chits worth of Rs. 90 thousand, Cash of Rs.70 thousand, Household Articles worth of about Rs. 5 lakh, Two wheelers, LIC premiums worth of Rs.7.5 lakh were identified.
All worth about Rs.1.5 crore (as per documentary value) were unearthed. The Market Value is approximately about Rs. 4 crore. Mannem Subrahmanyam was arrested and sent to Judicial Remand. The case is under investigation, the ACB said.
