CM thanks Almighty for saving people on Dasara Hyderabad, Oct 13 (INN): Chief Minister Mr. N Kiran Kumar Reddy wished the people of Andhra Pradesh a happy and prosperous Vijayadasami.
In a special message to the people of the State on the eve of the Dasara festival he said 'Let this Dasara festival bring us all joy and happiness. Let us all live in peace, prosperity and fraternity". He said legend behind the Dasara festival is triumph of good over the evil. He hoped that the festival heralds all-round prosperity for the State of Andhra Pradesh and the Telugu people.
The Chief Minister thanked the Almighty for saving the State of Andhra Pradesh from a huge loss and that the Phailin cyclone crossed the coast without much damage. He thanked all the public who cooperated, his cabinet colleagues, Public Representatives, officials, departmental heads, NDRF team, Army, Navy, District Collectors, Media and all others who stood with him in facing the Phailin cyclone which was thought to be a very severe cyclone. "It is all a team work and I thank everyone".
The Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh made rapid strides in every sphere and is regarded as the investors' best destination. With the good rains this year, he hoped that Agricultural production will be very encouraging and the farmers would stand to gain. He said that Andhra Pradesh is a happening State and there is great future ahead for the Telugus".
Kiran Kumar Reddy said he has extensively toured 12 districts through Indiramma Baata and stayed in the rural and interior areas and interacted with a cross section of people like farmers, tribals, students, SHG women, youth etc. He could study the ground realities and take remedial measures and sanctioned many a programmes as per the desire of the people. He said that our State is endowed with rich natural resources and a long coastline. It is industrially strong and is one of the biggest agricultural producing State contributing to the Nation's food security.
The Chief Minister reminded that many new schemes like SC, ST Sub Plan, Bangaru Talli, Re.1-a-kg rice scheme to benefit 2.25 crore families and 7.5 crore people, interest free crop loans for farmers and SHG women, Indira Jala Prabha by which 10 lakh fallow lands of SCs/STs will be brought under cultivation, Free Power to agricultural pump sets, completion of irrigation projects on priority basis, filling up of over a lakh of vacant government jobs, lakhs of new jobs for unemployed youth through Rajiv Yuvakiranaalu, Fee Reimbursement and Scholarships to 27 lakh students, pensions to all deserving classes, Indiramma Housing, 'Mee Seva' and release of funds for priority schemes through green channel and other welfare and developmental schemes are being implemented in right earnest.
Kiran Kumar Reddy wished the people of the State a happy Dasara.
