Naidu has jaundice, hospitalised Hyderabad: Ailing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was on Sunday night admitted to a hospital here for treatment for Jaundice, a liver-related problem. The TDP leader was rushed to Asian Institute of Gastroenterology directly from Shamshabad airport after he landed from New Delhi.
Institute Director Dr D Nageshwara Reddy said Naidu was suffering from Jaundice. He had lost 4 kg of weight with marked wasting of body fat and muscle. However, his vitals were stable.
The doctor said their main concern is the Jaundice (abnormal liver function tests Serum Bilirubin 2.5 with Direct 1.2 and Indirect biliru bin 1.3, SGOT 90 and SGPT 75) secondary to starvation.
He said that in addition to this, uric acid and LDH levels were high. Ketone bodies were still present. Naidu was being carefully monitored by a team of doctors including liver specialist and a nutrition specialist.
Naidu was discharged from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the morning in New Delhi.
