CPI rules out poll tie-up with YSRC ONGOLE: The Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary Kankanala Narayana ruled out an alliance with the YSR Congress Party in the 2014 Assembly and Parliament elections. Narayana was here to participate in the CPI district council meeting on Thursday.
At a press meet in the party office, he admitted that CPI central committee is pressurising the state unit for an alliance with the YSRCP but the state leaders are opposing it due to corruption charges being faced by YSRC leaders.
The CPM earlier had an alliance with the TRS but is now supporting Samaikyandhra, showing its double standards, he alleged. The CPI had never adopted double standards on the T-issue and stood for statehood from the beginning, he said and alleged that CPM was trying for an alliance with YSRC to get some assembly seats.
