CBIT professor alleges manhandling by bouncers Hyderabad: The differences in the management of Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) surfaced in the open on Friday with the President of CBIT Teachers Association, Prof. Ramakrishna Reddy being manhandled by the private security personnel provided by the CBIT Board members to the principal, Prof Chennakesava Rao.
It all started when Prof. P Ramakrishna Reddy questioned the 20-odd security personnel, who were found loitering around the campus. An altercation took place when the security personnel allegedly misbehaved with the professor and they all went to the Principal's office.
In the altercation which ensued inside the Principal's office, Prof Ramakrishna alleged that he was manhandled by the 'bouncers'. The teaching and non-teaching staff of the college drove the security personnel out of the campus.
The Principal, the only witness to the incident inside his office, has denied any violence or misbehavior on the part of the 'private security', as he calls them.
Prof B Suryanarayana, the General Secretary of CBIT Teachers Association, alleged that it was because of the fraudulent sale of B category (Management) seats by the Board this year, those who paid but couldn't get admissions were threatening the Principal, due to which the 'bouncers' were stationed on the campus.
