Aruna storms KCR bastion MAHBUBNAGAR : Minister for Information and Public Relations D K Aruna on Tuesday asserted that there would be no looking back for Telangana after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and it would prosper in all sectors in the coming years.
Aruna virtually conquered Mahbubnagar, the citadel of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao by organizing a massive public meeting at her home turf Gadwal as part of the thanksgiving gesture of the Telangana Congress leaders towards their party president Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood to Telangana.
The minister called upon the people of Telangana to put up a concerted effort for the reconstruction of Telangana. She said that Telangana sentiment was quite strong among the people of the region and said a separate State was their much cherished dream for more than 60 years.
Profusely thanking Sonia for granting Statehood for Telangana which was subject to gross injustice for several decades. She paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Telangana who had laid down their lives while fighting for separate State since 1969.
She wondered why the Seemandhra people were raising objections on creation of Telangana while they had voted for Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samithi alliance in 2004. She questioned how far it was correct for the Seemandhra leaders to create hurdles now when the dream was turning into a reality.

Aruna opined that it was foolish on the part of the Seemandhra leaders to think that the creation of Telangana would be stopped by holding just a public meeting at Hyderabad.
Referring to YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy's comments that Delhi was symbol of arrogance and Seemandhra was a symbol of self-pride, the minister wanted to know whether Telangana people were not Telugus.
She made it clear that it was the arrogance of the Seemandhra leaders to state that Sonia should go back to Italy. She alleged that it was Jagan's habit to betray people who had helped him.
Aruna said that the hunger strike of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Nadu at Delhi was nothing but a farcical exercise. He had cheated the people with his two-eyed policy on Telangana.
Stating that the She said that would ensure all the security to the Seemandhra people in Telangana, Aruna said the process of bifurcation could not be stopped at this stage. She reminded that Mahabubnagar was lagging behind in education and health sectors from decades and lamented that Naidu had made Mahabubnagar a desert after adopting it during his nine-year regime.
'Though Krishna enters into the State in this district, the people are deprived of irrigation and drinking water. While 15 tmc of water was allocated for the district, only 5 tmc is being used,' she said.
Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha warned Seemandhra leaders that they would be held responsible if they created any complications over the Telangana formation.
Describing Telangana as a tsunami, he said anybody who opposed it would be washed away.Former PCC president D Srinivas said there was no need for any apprehensions for Seemandhra people over bifurcation.
'The entire process would be done as per the Constitutional provisions and the interests of Seemandhra would be completely protected. I am sure Sonia would not do injustice to any region,' he said.
Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy said the Telangana was going to be reality in a few months and called for restraint among the people of both the regions.
Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao also took a dig at Jagan and Naidu saying it was not known which turn the YSR Congress president had taken on Telangana issue, while the TDP president had taken a U turn.
'Unfortunately, even Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy also took a U turn after declaring that he would abide by the high command decision,' he said.Stating that the issue of State bifurcation was not new, VHR said it was late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who had initiated the process when he was Chief Minister.
