Vijayamma flays govt, calls her arrest 'undemocratic' Hyderabad, October 31: Taking serious exception on the police attitude in preventing her tour in Nalgonda district, Y S Vijayamma, honorary president of YSR Congress party, termed her arrest 'undemocratic'.
Speaking to the press persons at the Nelekondapalli police station in Nalgonda district on Thursday, she dared the government to reason on what grounds she was prevented from meeting the public, who got affected by rain havoc.
'Is it wrong to interact with the public? Are we living in Democratic country or not?' she questioned. The Chief Minister himself claims to be an integrationist, will police arrest him too if he visits Telangana? If the government and chief minister is so capable why don't they stop people who prevent me to visit the flood hit farmers and people, thunders Vijayamma.
Vijayamma said neither of these leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, visited flood hit areas to see the plight of people, nor any one visited a farmer who lost their standing crops due to floods.
Telangana people have shown abundant love and affection towards YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as they did towards YS Rajasekhara Reddy. It was proved in time and again in earlier elections too. Rajasekhara Reddy always aspired that the state should be intact for faster development and growth. Jagana Mohan Reddy too believes that the state should be kept united for the development of all the three regions, she averred.
Vijayamma said that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will form the government and he is going to be the chief minister of the state. He will extend all welfare schemes irrespective of the region which they belong to, she adds.
