Strauss's reign to continue
Mumbai: The leader of the newly crowned No 1 Test team in the world is not finished yet. England Test skipper Andrew Strauss will lead his warriors to consolidate their position and stay atop for some more time.
Strauss has an extraordinary horoscope with as many as four planets ' Mercury, Venus, Moon and Mars ' in their strongest position. And this makes him extremely successful in Test cricket. Strauss is a combination of Cancer and Aquarius; a steadfast campaigner with a touch of genius.
His army will quell the challenges from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and New Zealand and give a tough fight to South Africa and a resurgent India in 2012. Strauss will maintain England's position as the No 1 Test team throughout 2012 and may lose the crown only by 2013.
Unfortunately for him, Strauss doesn't have a strong Uranus, Planet-X or Planet-Y. This would mean that the South Africa born player may not lead England to a World Cup victory or something similarly outstanding in stature.
The summit of Strauss's captaincy would be when he leads England to clinch the Test Championships in 2013 and there is a very high possibility that he would. Later, he would meet his waterloo in the Australian team. Strauss's team will fail to recapture the Ashes magic of 2009-10 and surrender the urn when they meet Aussies again in 2013.
As a batsman, the left- hander would do well not just in Tests but may also shine in ODIs and Twenty 20s. However, he may not make it to the England ODI World Cup squad for 2015.
By the time he hangs up his boots around 2014-15, Strauss would have carved his name in the annals of cricket as one of the greatest English skippers ever.
