VVS Laxman opens Insportz Centre Hyderabad, Sept 25(INN): The twin cities added another glorious chapter to its sports facade A glorious chapter was added to the vibrant sports canvas of Hyderabad with the unveiling of a multi-purpose state-of-the-art sports Centre here on Sunday.
Inaugurating the centre, Test cricket's crisis man, V V S Laxman certified it as among the best infrastructural centres in the country. Lauding the promoters Ajmal Sanai Cricket & Sports Foundation (ASCSF) for bridging a long felt gap, Laxman said the facilities of the highest global standards.
Exuding confidence that the centre would come as a welcome change for the budding cricketers, he said he remained optimistic that if properly used, the Centre could produce outstanding players, including Test players, in the days ahead.
Giving the finer aspects of the Insportz Centre, its managing director, Ajmal Ziauddin Sanai explained that they would revolutionize the concept of cricket training in the country. He said they were equipped with the finest of exclusive facilities, most of which were being pioneered in the country.
Mr Ajmal pointed out that the Centre was conceived with the singular motto of tapping talent and providing them with avenues to fine-tune their skills under the watchful eyes of veteran coaches who had seen and done that.
Located in Road No 12, Banjara Hills, the centre boasts of several firsts, including three full-size turf wickets, three artificial turf wickets, which have specifically been imported from United Kingdom and flood light ground and three bowling machines brought from U.K and Australia.
The bowling machines will scientifically help batsmen perfect their stroke-play against all types of deliveries, including thunderbolts hurled at speeds of 150 km/h.
In order to make the trainees match-fit and get used to the tough propositions that they will face in the days ahead, the centre will organise six-a-side cricket matches both in daylight and under lights.
The coaching regimen would be monitored by Mohammed Faiz Ahmed, former Ranji All-rounder and professional coach, would be leading the Academy as its Director. He will be assisted by a team of qualified coaches, including M R Baig, Mohiuddin, Fayaz Baig, Shahed Akber, Mohammed Iftekaruddin, D.Vinay Kumar and Syed Mairaj.
Former captain of Indian women team, Poornima Rao will oversee the coaching requirements of women cricketers.
