Hyderabad Heritage Marathon on Sunday Hyderabad, Oct 07 (INN): Several international athletes will be seen in action in the Hyderabad Heritage Marathon, which will be held on Sunday. The prize money tournament, which has Rs 12 lakh that is up for grabs, will be under the joint auspices of Hyderabad 10K Run Foundation and the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department.
The major attraction of the event is that it is divided into two categories-half-marathon and full marathon. A team championship award has been instituted in both the categories.
Convenor of the event, Uma Chigurupati, told reporters here on Friday that international participants, from among the one thousand who have already confirmed their entries, include runners from Ethiopia, Kenya, Japan and the United States.
The full marathon is likely to be flagged-off at 4.30am at the Chowmahalla Palace. It will culminate at Qutub Shahi Tombs. The half-marathon will begin and wind up at the same places although the route will be different from the main event.
