India bowl out WI for 153, take 478-run lead Kolkata: Spinner Pragyan Ojha returned a four-wicket haul as India tightened its noose around the West Indies by bowling them out for a paltry 153 to take a huge 478-run first innings lead on day three of the second cricket Test here on Wednesday.
The lunch was taken immediately after Fidel Edwards's dismissal by Ojha signalled the end of the first innings of the West Indies, who had resumed at 24 for two.
India took eight wickets in a single session with pacer Umesh Yadav being the most impressive bowler as he accounted for three batsmen in his seven overs, costing just 23 runs.
Eight wickets fell with addition of just 119 runs in the two-and-half hour first session that started 30 minutes early to make up for yesterday's poor light.
Ojha struck in the third over this morning to give the first breakthrough in the form of Kirk Edwards (16).
The left-arm spinner was not afraid to give flight and maintaining a tight line and length while he opened the bowling this morning with Yadav.
The inexperienced West Indies line-up put up a spineless display after their senior-most pro Shivnarine Chanderpaul (4) was trapped by Ashwin (2/49).
Once the last match centurion Chanderpaul, who has seven hundreds against India, departed the West innings collapsed. Yadav wreaked havoc with some toe-crushing line and fine away swingers.
Bravo played a good length Yadav ball that was going away but it took an inside edge of his bat to hit the off-stumps, ending a 46-run partnership, the highest for the Windies, with Samuels.
