Businesses set 60 day deadline to install fire safety measures
Hyderabad, Aug 16 (INN): Additional Director, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Fire Prevention Wing C Lakshmi Prasad on Monday told managements of non- multi storied shops, malls, lodging and hotels, bars and restaurants and function halls to install all requisite fire safety measures by October 15, 2010.
Mr Lakshmi Prasad was speaking during his meeting with the management of the commercial premises and city planners of North and South Zone on Monday at Panwar Hall, GHMC, Hyderabad.
The managements were told to install the fire safety measures as per the Part 4 National Building Code of India within 60 days to ensure life and fire safety of the people.
The Managements were further informed that necessary legal action will be incited as per the provisions of AP Fire Service Act, 1999 and Municipal Corporation Building By-Laws, 1981 on the owners and managements if they failed to provide the required fire safety measures to ensure life safety of occupants and patrons.
