Vizag Steel gets Navratna status
New Delhi, Nov 16 (INN): Union Heavy Industries Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Tuesday handed over the documents of Navaratna status conferred on Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) to Chairman and Managing Director of RINL P K Bishnoi at a programme in the capital.
Addressing the gathering, Bishnoi said the performance of VSP made it a fit case to get the status of a Navaratna company. Bishnoi recalled in the efforts of steel plant employees in getting Navaratna status for company and thanked them for their companies prosperous growth. Earlier, the Union Ministry has conferred Mini Ratna status for VSP in 2006.
