CII felicitates environmental friendly companies Hyderabad, Jan 29 (INN): Confederation of Indian Industries Andhra Pradesh chapter Chairman Shakti Sagar on Saturday released a manual brought out by the CII, 'In Pursuit of Green Excellence' at a function to felicitate companies who take up innovative environmental projects. The CII AP Chairman also presented awards to 17 projects which were the winners of the 'Most Innovative Environmental Project' and 14 other projects bagged the award for 'Innovative Environmental Project.'
Apart from these, three other projects bagged the 'Most Useful Environmental Project' Awards. The award ceremony was the first CII Environmental Best Practices Award 2011, organised at the Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre.
The winners were decided after questionnaires were invited from companies who have achieved significant environmental benefits through implementation of projects in the areas of resource conservation, waste reduction, recycling and pollution control measures during the past three years.
Over 150 companies responded to the CII questionnaires, out of which 30 were shortlisted. The 30 shortlisted companies have managed to attain an annual recurring saving of Rs 177 crore in the past five years.
