Indianapolis Business group to visit Hyderabad next week
Hyderabad: An American group of Businessmen are visiting Hyderabad next week, The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) of the state of Indianapolis said in an official statement. IEDC is sending a job mission to India next week to establish partnerships with information technology, life sciences and new energy firms. The delegation, led by the IEDC Commerce Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mitch Roob, will make stops in Mumbai and Hyderabad during the week-long trade mission, an official statement said.
'Along with China, India has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is poised to invest significantly in the US market,' Mr Roob said in the statement.
In its inaugural trip, the delegation will be focused on introducing all the firms the state of Indianapolis has to offer, in particular, a workforce skilled in IT, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing and a location that offers tremendous access to all of the major US commerce hubs, he said.
In addition to more than 30 business meetings, the delegation will also attend receptions hosted by the US Consulate General in Mumbai and Hyderabad, the statement added.
Indiana has hosted several delegations from India over the past few years, including a November visit by Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy, who travelled to Indianapolis to further strengthen the sister-city relationship she established with Mayor Greg Ballard earlier in 2010.
In September, a delegation of 25 executives from the Confederation of Indian Industry travelled to Indiana to discuss the commerce and trade opportunities with the state's business and community leaders.
Indiana companies exported more than $250-million worth of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, industrial machinery, automobile parts and other goods to India in 2010, according to the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce.
