Advantage AP from Mar 1 State to go all out for IT growth
Hyderabad, Feb 24 (INN): The state government has taken the prestigious Information Technology event scheduled for March 1 and 2, the Advantage AP Conference and Exhibition, in its stride and extended full support to the captains of the IT industry and for its expansion in a big way. The govt also pledged that it would extend support of infrastructure and other facilities to make Hyderabad as the final destination in IT sector. As part of the curtain raiser, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy launched a website to herald the beginning of the IT investments on a large-scale.
Stating that their investments itself is a budget for the IT, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy asserted that in one day Rs 25,000 crore MoU was signed as against Rs 45,000 crore investments during the last five years. 'We will give the requisite thrust for IT expansion,' the Chief Minister said, adding that Rs 25,000 crore is in the pipeline from 25 units. He assured full support to the IT managers and asked them to utilise the facilities in whatever manner required for the growth of the 'modern engine of economy.'
Industry-driven Hyderabad was chosen for the cited programme. Among others, 1,000 IT companies have already registered for participation besides Small and Medium entrepreneurs were expected to take part. 'It is not budget alone but the commitment that is important,' said IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmiah, adding that the event should be purposeful to benefit all concerned including the students from the computer wing.
The Advantage AP Conference and Exhibition is supported by leading industry associations like ATPI, NASSCOM, ESC, ELIAP, FACI, AMCHAM and TIE apart from support from infrastructure developers such Infosys, Wipro, Mahendra Satyam, GenPact, IBM, TCS, Progress Software, Dell, Bharati Airtel, Lanco, Divyasree, CyberCity, NSL, Indu, Mantri, QCity among others.
As many as 80 plus innovative software products will be showcased as part of the exhibition. More than 200 IT companies will set up stalls covering it products, services, animation, communication, SEZ and IT park infrastructure developers, start ups, incubation centres etc.
Over 60 eminent industry experts are expected to deliver their message at the event. Besides experts from BHEL, SCR and the Defence sectors will address the gathering.
The event will provide a platform for all concerned to exchange their views and programmes. IT provides opportunities in manufacturing, BFSI, innovation, among others.
