Jayadev Galla named new CII chairman
Hyderabad, March 11 (INN): Amara Raja Batteries Ltd and Galla Foods Ltd Managing Director Jayadev Galla was on Friday elected the new Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Andhra Pradesh for the year 2011 ' 2012 at the Annual Meeting of the body. Meanwhile, Bharat Biotech International Ltd co-founder and Joint Managing Director Suchitra K Ella was elected as the Vice Chairperson for CII Andhra Pradesh for the year 2011-2012.
Mr Galla holds a Bachelor Degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He started his career as International Sales Executive, GNB Battery Technologies, Inc, USA (now part of ExideTechnologies, Inc, USA) and joined Amara Raja Batteries in 1992 as a Management Executive. He is also a director in various group companies of Amara Raja Group presently.
Mr Galla was the Vice Chairman of CII Andhra Pradesh for the year 2010-11. He has been National Chairman of CII Yi during the year 2008-09 and an active member in several apex level committees of the CII.
Ms Suchitra Ella completed her Bachelor Degree in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Madras, Chennai, India. She also completed her Diploma in Business Development and Estate Management Regulation from USA. She co-founded Bharat Biotech International Ltd, in 1996 after relocating to India from US.
Her vision, leadership and organizational capabilities have been a key driver for enabling the growth and success path of Bharat Biotech. She is an active member of CII and chaired various panels in CII Andhra Pradesh.
