FAPCCI gets new head, deputy


 
Hyderabad, June 15 (INN): VS Raju, a leading advocate in Corporate Law, was unanimously elected as President of FAPCCI for 2011-2012 at its 94th Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday.

Mr VS Raju worked in various capacities in the Department of Company Affairs Govt. of India for more than two decades. He was the Registrar of Companies, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and the Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary to Govt. of India in the then Department of Company Affairs, New Delhi.

He took voluntary retirement from service in August, 1988. Since then he has been practicing Law as an Advocate before the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Hyderabad, mostly dealing with Companies Act, Foreign Exchange Management Regulation Act, Security Contracts Regulation Act, SEBI Act, Consumer Protection Act and other Corporate Laws and department of Company Affaires.

He is Adviser to several Companies especially in the matter of Company Law, and advises various corporate bodies on matters relating to public issues, SEBI Guidelines and other Corporate Laws.

He is Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of JOCIL Ltd, Director in Andhra Sugars Ltd, Gangavaram Port Ltd etc.

He has been associated with FAPCCI since 1977 when he was the Registrar of Companies, AP, Hyderabad and became Member of the Managing Committee, and Chairman of Company Law and Capital Market Committee of FAPCCI since 1991.

He was nominated by SEBI as Public Representative to the Governing Board of Directors of Hyderabad Stock Exchange for a period1997-2000. He was Vice-President of FAPCCI for the year 2009-2010 and Sr. Vice President for the year 2010-2011.

Mr. Devendra Surana, a renowned Industrialist, Managing Director, Bhagyanagar India Limited and Director ' Surana Ventures Limited is unanimously elected as Senior Vice President of FAPCCI for 2011-2012. Surana Group of Companies, having a 350 Crore Turnover, manufactures of Solar Photovoltaic Panels, Auto Electricals, Wind Power ' 10.25 MW AND Copper Products.

He completed BE (Mechanical) from Osmania University and MBA (PGDM) from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (Chosen as the Brain of the Batch). He has presented papers and lectures at various colleges and institutes of repute like Institute of Public Enterprise, Osmania University, FAPCCI etc.
