Choudhary takes charge as new VSP Chairman Visakhapatnam, August 1 (INN): AP Choudhary on Monday take over as the new Chairman and Managing Director of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from PK Bishnoi. Mr Bishnoi's reached the age of superannuation on July 31.
Mr Choudhary was elevated to the post of the Chairman from his post as Director (Projects). He had earlier worked in the Rourkela steel plant of SAIL.
The new VSP Chairman had joined the Steel Authority of India Limited at Rourkela in 1978, and had, served as the SAIL's Rourkela steel plant's Executive Director.
An engineering graduate (Mechanical) from MIT, Muzaffarpur and Master of Engineering (Design) from Regional Engineering College, Rourkela, he played a key role in the 6.3 million tonne expansion project of the Visakha Steel Plant.
Earlier he made significant contributions in the financial and business restructuring of SAIL for its turnaround, initiating cost-cutting measures across the company. Mr Choudhary specialises in coordinating different sectors like marketing finance, project and plant operations.
