Srinivas Bommidala to head GMR Airports HYDERABAD: In a strategic move, Srinivas Bommidala, Ma'n'aging Director of GMR Infra'str'ucture Ltd has stepped down fro'm the position. He is likly to head the airports division of the group.
GMR Infrastructure Ltd has appointed B V Nageswara Rao as the Managing Director of the company, as its MD Srinivas Bommidala resigned from the post. The change will come into effect from October 1, 2011.
The company's annual general meeting reappointed O. Bangaru Raju, R.S.S.L.N. Bhask'arudu, Dr. Prakash G. Apte, and Kiran Kumar Grandhi as directors.
The change is part of a planned overhaul at the GMR Holding Board. According to sources, the management is aiming at allowing its future leaders to have a working knowledge of all its businesses.
GMR Group chairman G M Rao's elder son, G B S Raju, now the chairman, corporate functions and international business, is expected to head the energy division.
His younger brother, Kiran K Grandhi, now in charge of the Delhi, Hyderabad, Istanbul and Male airports, is likely to focus on urban infrastructure and may cease to be chairman- airports.
