Private sector slams State for power cuts Hyderabad, July 12 (INN): The Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industries on Thursday criticised the State Government's decision to implement more power cuts in the State.
Addressing a press conference here, FAPCCI president Devender Surana and Chairmen (Energy Committee) V Anil Reddy said that the government's decision would add to the vows of the people across the State.
He said that closing of industries up to 15 days would put a lot of financial burden on the people.
As against the demand of 18,000 to 19,000 MW power per day by the industries, the government was supplying an average of 10,000 MW per day.
He said due to the power cuts the industries have suffered a loss of over Rs 257 crore and 30 lakh workers working in 1.6 lakh industries in the State are also suffering.
Devender Surana feared that the prices of all commodities would increase due to the cut in industrial production.
President of the union of industrial estates around Hyderabad M M Reddy alleged that Congress government, which claims itself to be an industrial-friendly government, has failed to supply 350 MW power to 28 industrial estates.
He said the recent decision to increase the power cuts to 15 days in a month have added to the problems of already ailing industrial sector.
The FAPCCI demanded that the government provide relief to the industries in the State. Nacharam Industrial Area Federation president J Nageshwar Rao also spoke.
