Hyderabad, Feb 4 (INN): Addressing at a simple function organised to release the Autobiography of Sri APVN Sarma, a retired IAS Officer of 1974 batch, titled 'Naruni Sevalo Narayanudu' written by Dr. R. Ananta Padmanabha Rao, held at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan on Monday, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said Sarma is an embodiment of humility, kindness, integrity and born to serve the people.

The Governor said Sarma is known for his humility, integrity, competency and stands out as a role model for the bureaucrats. He said Sri Sarma was known as Shipping Sarma in Delhi in those days when was the Additional Secretary in the Shipping Ministry. He said he felt very happy in 2014 when he was informed that Sri Sarma was being appointed as an Advisor to the Governor and ever since he proved to be an invaluable asset to him and he was benefited by his advise. He said that if Singareni Collieries is earning accolades today that is because of the efforts and hard work of Sri Sarma for the revival of the institution as Chairman of MD of Singareni Collieries, which almost became a sick industry in those days. He said Sri Sarma while working for the revival of Singareni Collieries also implemented several reforms for the welfare of workers.

The Governor said throughout his career, Sri Sarma, left his footprint in all the positions held by him, be it as Collector of three districts, rehabilitation works during floods, setting up Public Health Centres in all mandals etc. Governor said Sarma's tenure as Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams stands out, as during this time that two important institutions were set up such as the Sri Venkateswara Vedic University and the SVBC Channel and served the Lord with utmost devotion.

Narsimhan appreciated the author of Sri Sarma's autobiography, Dr. R. Anantha Padmanabha Rao, retired additional Director General of Doordarshan, for bringing out the multi-faceted personality of Sri Sarma to light through his work.

APVN Sarma thanked the Governor for releasing the book and felicitated the Governor and Lady Governor Vimala Narasimhan and the author of the autobiography by presentation of bouquets and shawl.
