Puri's assistant allegedly molested actress
Comparing to other industries, casting couch was less popular in south film industries. But the scenario seems to be changed now. Though it's not new to show biz, whenever an event happens it quickly catches the media attention.
As per the reports a small budget movie director was booked under section 354 of IPC for assaulting the actress. The actress of the new low budget Telugu film 24 By Love approached the police and filed complaint against director Phani saying that he molested her and asked for sexual favours.
The victim told the police that he had been taking advantage of his position and was sexually exploiting her. According to the complaint Phani went to her home around 3 AM and tried to molest her. Police registered the case and the probe is on currently.
The police said that they have booked a case against the film director under Section 354 of IPC for assaulting a woman with criminal intent to outrage her modesty.
Phani worked under Puri Jagannadh until some time ago and recently directed a film titled '24/Love'. Sonali is one of the actress of 24/Love. The film has completed its shooting part and is gearing up for release. The film stars Chandu, Sonali and Alekhya.
