Sharp rise in cine workers wages
Its known that cine worker unions have gone for strike recently and as a result, all the shooting are halted all over the Telugu Film Industry. They had called off the strike after getting their demands fulfilled. The strike was halted within a week days with producers association accepting several demands of the workers union.
As per the close sources in the film industry, the cine union workers have demanded a mammoth rise of 32% in their wages. Now the revised list of wages was announced and it seems like most wages across the categories were increased from 25% to 45%.
However this increase in wages will be applicable only for big budget films. These new wages have come in force from 21st October 2014 and will remain in force till 20th October 2017.
The increase of wages becomes huge burden for the makers and it will soar up the production costs further.Here is complete and detailed list of new wages in Tollywood Cine Workers. The first amount was old wage and the second was the revised one.
