Tollywood mourns Janaki Ram's death The entire Telugu film industry froze in disbelief and plunged into grief when the tragic news of Nandamuri Harikrishna's eldest son Janakiram's death broke out.
After the fatal accident, his body was rushed to the Osmania General Hospital at Hyderabad for post mortem and his body was brought to his Masab Tank residence in the early hours of Sunday.
Janakiram was eldest grandson of legendary Telugu cine Nataratna and late Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao and son of veteran actor Nandamuri Harikrishna, who is also a leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The mortal remains were consigned to flames at his farmhouse at Murtuzaguda under Moinabad mandal in Ranga Reddy district on Sunday evening. Janakiram's son little NTR lit the pyre.
Nandamuri Harikrihsna along with other family members, including Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram mourned the death. Janakiram used to produce films under NTR Arts banner featuring his brother Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
Harikrshna's residence in Masab tank turned into a sea of mourners as his body was kept on Sunday for the people to pay their last respects. Police and volunteers had a tough time in controlling the surging crowds. Film personalities, politicians and eminent citizens from various walks of life paid their last respects to Janakiram.
Many celebrities visited Hari Krishna's Masab tank residence to pay their last respects on Sunday. Actor and Hindhupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna consoled his brother Hari krishna and other family members.
Colleagues from the industry like Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, K Raghavender Rao Kota Srinivas Rao, D Suresh Babu, Nandamuri Jaya Krishna, Narsing Yadav, Jagapathi Babu and others visited the Hari Krishna family.
Political personalities like Lakshmi Parvathi, Kodali Nani, A Jaya Prakash, Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad and many others also paid their respects.
As news of Janakiram's demise spread, a spate of condolences poured in from all walks of life. Several political leaders also joined in paying tributes. YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP ministers Ravela Kishore Babu, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy were among those who paid homage and consoled Janakiram's family members.
YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy paid tributes to Janakiram on Sunday. He expressed condolences and hoped for strength for the Hari Krishna family. Some of the popular films produced by Janakiram include Athanokkade, Hare Raam, Om 3D, while Pataas and Kick 2 are currently under production. Janakiram is survived by his wife and a son, who was recently selected as child artiste for Telugu children's film Dana Veera Soora Karna.
