As the year 2014 nearing completion within hours and let us see how Tollywood started and ended the year. Its known that Tollywood film industry has minimal of 2-3 % success rate and this year is no exception either. Out of 193 straight films released this year, there are only there are only 23-24 films that were atleast average or above average earners if not super hits.
Several films flopped and only a few managed to stay above the water. There are some high budgeted and films with decent buzz that were released in the year which went onto become disasters leaving producers in hefty losses.Total 190 films hit the screens in 2014.
January started with Srikanth's Kshatriya in Jan and Mahesh Babu's 1-Nenokkadine. Both the films flopped and many are left to wonder why movie lovers couldn't accept Hollywood style taking of 1.
Ram Charan scored a hit with Yevadu. Puri Jagannath's Heart Attack and Mohan Babu's Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda failed to entertain. In February Krishna Vamsi's Paisa met with the same fate. Sunil's Bheemavaram Bullodu is no different.
Balakrishna revived the hopes of Tollywood by scoring a blockbuster with Legend. April saw Sampoornesh Babu creating sensation with Hrudaya Kaaleyam. Allu Arjun who came without expectations with Race Gurram raced towards success.
Venkatesh's Drushyam attracted all. Sarvanand's Run Raja Run did well while Geetanjali brought craze to horror genre films. Aadi's Gaali Patam, Sumanth Ashwin's Lovers are ok. NTR faced bitter experience and his film Rabhasa failed miserably.
In Oct, 12 films came and Ram Charan's Govindudu Andari Vaadele revived Krishna Vamsi's career. Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya worked well for young hero Naga Shourya. Manchu Manoj's Current Teega failed to entertain masses. Lakshmi Rave Maa Intiki and Chakkiliginta failed while Mega brother Naga Babu's son Varun Tej's Mukunda attracted all. Nitin's Chinna Daana Neekosam stayed away from success.
