Jr artist held on prostitution charges
Hyderabad city police on Saturday claimed to have busted a sex racket with the arrest of nine persons including some junior artists.
The special operating team of the police, after getting a tip off, conducted raids at a place and arrested them. All the arrested women were sent to rescue home and a case has been registered against them. They will be produced in the court on Monday.
It may be recalled that these kind of incidents are frequently happening in the outskirts of Hyderabad city in the recent past. With places like Uppal and LB Nagar being known for low key surveillance of police, many sex-racket organisers are said to be choosing these places.
Police have identified some lodges and guest houses in these areas and a special surveillance is being kept for some time now. There have been a lot of Tollywood actresses who are caught up in cases of prostitution and are later released or bailed because of some or the other kind of pressure on the police.
