Venkatesh wants to be a good actor Venkatesh is one of the biggest superstars of Tollywood. In a career spanning over 25 years, the actor has delivered a string of blockbusters and has been reckoned as a trendsetter.
However, the actor hates being referred to as a superstar and doesn't believe in competition. 'More than a star, I would love to hear people calling me a good actor. It gives me space to attempt different films.' Venkatesh is happy that his fans have received almost all his roles equally well.
'I'm not after stardom, I see myself as a lucky person as I have universal acceptance as one of the finest actors of Telugu cinema.' The actor finds it easy to share screen space with other stars at this moment. 'I don't see anyone as a competitor. If I get a good story I would love to share screen space with any actor. I always think of working in a film close on the heels of Hollywood movie Avengers.
Just imagine how a poster featuring me, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, NTR Jr, Prabhas and others would be? I hope one day we will get such a script,' shares Venkatesh. The actor is now looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Gopala Gopala.
The film also stars Pawan Kalyan playing modern Krishna. 'Gopala Gopala is a clean meaningful film with a message. We took utmost care not to hurt anyone's sentiments. God is the central character in our film and he teaches me about spirituality and principles of Bhagavad Gita, Quran and Bible.
The theme is all about a man who transforms from a non-believer to a staunch believer in God.' Directed by Dolly, the film is slotted for January 10 release.
