Lion gets inspiration from real story Balakrishna is playing the role of a CBI officer in his upcoming film Lion. According to sources, the actor's role in the film is inspired by the real-life story of former CBI Joint Director Lakshmi Narayana, who shot to fame with politico YS Jagan's arrest.
The film has many political satires on tainted politicians, especially on Gali Janardhan Reddy, a former minister from Karnataka. Sources say the movie opens up with an arrest sequence where Balakrishna detains a rich politician who sits on a golden throne, boasts himself as the modern king Srikrishna Devaraya.
In that particular episode, Balakrishna's dialogues were written keeping in view the corruption tales of the former minister. The story of the film deals with corruption and the politicians involved in scams. Directed by Satya Deva, Lion features Trisha and Radhika Apte as female leads. The makers are planning to release the film in March.
