Heroine gets married after embracing Islam
South Indian actress Monica, who became Raheema after converting to Islam tied the knot with a Chennai- based entrepreneur Malik. She married in a simple and elegant ceremony that took place in Chennai yesterday(January 11, 2015). The marriage is said to be an arranged one and reportedly, the groom is the son of Monika's father's close friend.
Monica, who became famous with her roles in films like Maa Alludu Very Good, Siva Rama Raju, Pandem Kodi and Koduku couldn't make it big in films. She recently held a press conference to report about her conversion and had also bid adieu to her film career.
A child actor in the early 1990s, Monica mostly appeared in supporting roles, before taking lead roles from the late 2000s on.M onica had many name changes. Born as Rekha Maruthiraj, she took the name Monica for her acting career in Tamil and Telugu films. For Malayalam films, she is Parwana and now she became Raheema.
