RGV meet with another powerful wife
Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, known for path-breaking films such as 'Sarkar' and 'Rakht Charitra', will next make a movie titled 'Killing Veerappan' on the man who gunned down the dreaded smuggler.
The film will be made in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Kannada superstar Shivrajkumar has been roped in to play the killer of Veerappan, while RGV is yet to cast someone to play Veerappan.
Now as per reports RGV is trying to script the movie with the support of the Smuggler Veerappan's surviving wife Muttulakshmi. RGV said that he will soon meet the lady to get more details about Veerappan life style.
Confirming the development Mutthulaxmi said that, Ram Gopal Varma met her previously in 2007 . She said that they both are into a contract then itself for a movie on Veerappan. But due to some issues, the project was stopped then. But now RGV met her again and inquired about every detail of Veerappan and ready to bring her into the media too now. This is not Varma's first dabbling with such powerful wives.Before filming his Raktacharitra, Ramu met Paritlaa Ravi wife Sunitha and Maddelachervu Suri wife Bhanumathi. More details like, when and where they are going to meet, will be out soon.
Veerappan, one of the most wanted of Indian bandits, ruled the forests of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for several decades, smuggling tonnes of sandalwood. He was gunned down by the police in 2004.Veerappan was wanted for poaching close to 200 elephants and smuggling ivory worth US$2,600,000 and about 10,000 tonnes of sandalwood worth approximately US$22,000,000.
When asked about whom he will cast in the role of Veerappan, Varma said it will be a surprise and that he wants to keep the identity of the actor a secret for now.
