Actress Sentenced to Life for Murder of Director
A small time actress of Tamil cinema has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Chennai on charges of murdering an aspiring film director.The actress, Saritha alias Sangeetha, was pronounced guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment by Additional Sessions Judge.
Sangeetha was convicted of murder of the director in a lodge for non-payment of her dues by director Selva. The murder was happened in 2007 in a lodge. Sangeetha, met the director Selva at a lodge in Vadapalani on the night of March 5, 2007 and when the director turned down for a major role, she strangled him and escaped.
Police arrested her and was remanded. Later she got a bail and has been absconding for seven years. Last year, the cops arrested her and filed a charge sheet.Police caught her again last year and filed a charge sheet against her. The court sentenced her to life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs.5,000.
