TV actor found dead in pond
A well known Bengali television actor was found dead in a water body in south Kolkata . Actor Ronen Chakraborty, popularly known as Ronnie, was declared dead after his body was recovered from a lake near his residence.
According to family, after returning from work on Friday evening the actor had gone for his gym session. Later he went for a swim but did not return till late in the night. The parents of the actor said that they were worried when Ronen did not return till late night on Friday. The family then approached the local Survey Park police station for help.
Police then began searching the lake near his residence and recovered the actor's body. Police said his body was recovered from a pond in Survey Park in south Kolkata around 4 a.m. and brought to M.R. Bangur Hospital where he was declared brought dead.All his belongings, including his mobile phone and motorcycle were found near the lake.
Reports revealed presence of alcohol in his stomach. He was currently working in Star Jalsha's tele serial 'Jol Nupur'.Ronnie is survived by his wife and 6-month-old daughter.The actor's body has been sent for postmortem by the police. The reason of his death are however unknown as yet. Questions like how, an able bodied man, who was a decent swimmer could die of drowning, has deepened the mystery surrounding his demise.
