Dirty beauty to be awarded honorary doctorate
National award and Padma Shri award winner Vidya Balan is one of the most versatile actors across the country. The actress now received another prestigious honor. She is soon to be handed over with an honorary doctorate for her contribution to Indian cinema and for empowering women in the country.
Rai University, an Ahemdabad based university announced the doctorate to Vidya and it is all praise about actress Balan's contribution to the society. And, that's not it. Rai University will bestow Vidya Balan with the title will and also launch a special scholarship program in her honor.
The university has named a scholarship programme after her name. Vidya has been given the responsibility to nominate a girl student every year for the scholarship. Vidya was very happy when she was told about the initiative and feels it's a great achievement.
Overwhelmed by the honour, the actress hopes to live up to the honour. "It is truly humbling and overwhelming to receive this honour. What makes this even more special is that I complete ten years in the film industry this year.''. The actress will next be seen in Mohit Suri's 'Humari Adhuri Kahani soon.
