Legendary composer MSV is no more Critically Acclaimed music director M S Viswanathan (86) passed away at a private hospital in Chennai. Viswanathan had been undergoing treatment for age-related ailments and joined in Malar hospitals few days before. MSV end came around 4.30 am on Tuesday.
Born at Elappully in Palakkad in 1928, he moved to Chennai at the age of 10. Since 1945, he has been active in music composition. Viswanathan has done music for more than 2000 movies, including 100 Malayalam and 30 Telugu films. In Telugu, his compositions include Tenali Ramakrishna, Anthuleni Kathaa, Idhi Katha Kaadu, Aakali Rajyam and Maro Charitra.
MSV's collaboration with legendary filmmaker K Balachander also produced several evergreen classics.He also sung for few films and even turned into an actor. Tamil Nadu government conferred him with 'Thirai Isai Chakravarthy' (The Emperor of Cine Music) in 2012.
Viswanathan was married to Janaki and they have four sons and three daughters. His wife, Janaki, died on 14 May 2012. Several film celebrities and close friends of Mr Vishwanathan, 87, have already started paying visits. RIP MSV...
