Telangana Budget for 2026-27/ focus on welfare and social justice Hyderabad: The Telangana government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has unveiled its budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with a total outlay of Rs. 3,24,234 crore. The budget, themed 'People's Welfare - Social Justice,' prioritises education, welfare, and infrastructure development.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented the budget in Telangana Assembly on Friday.

Revenue expenditure has been put at Rs. 2,34,406 crore, capital expenditure is Rs. 47,267 crore, and per capita income is Rs. 4,18,931 crore.
The budget aims to boost the state's growth, with a projected GDP growth rate of 10.2%. The government's focus on education, welfare, and infrastructure is expected to benefit various sections of society, particularly farmers, women, and youth.
In the budget, the state government has allocated Rs 26,674 crore for the education department, Rs 23,179 crore for the agriculture department, Rs 21,285 crore for the power department, Rs 7,366 crore for the civil supplies department, Rs 1,529 crore for the animal husbandry department, Rs 13,679 crore for the medical department, Rs 998 crore for the labor department, Rs 1,224 crore for the tourism sector, Rs 3,143 crore for the women and child welfare department, Rs 11,784 crore for SC welfare, Rs 7,937 crore for ST welfare, Rs 12,511 crore for BC welfare, and Rs 3,769 crore for minority welfare.
Similarly, Rs. 17,907 crore has been allocated to the Urban Development and Municipal Administration Department, Rs. 2,367 crore to the Law Department, Rs. 12,759 crore to the Transport Department, Rs. 33,688 crore to the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Departments, Rs. 875 crore to the IT Department, Rs. 3,490 crore to the Industries Department, Rs. 258 crore to handlooms, Rs. 7,430 crore to housing construction, Rs. 22,615 crore to irrigation projects, Rs. 6 thousand crore to Rajiv Yuva Vikas, Rs. 11,907 crore to law and order, and Rs. 500 crore to Godavari Pushkarams.
Key Highlights of the budget:
- Agriculture and Farmer Welfare: Rs. 23,179 crore allocated for farmer support schemes, including investment assistance, crop insurance, and loan waivers.
- Education and Skill Development: Rs. 26,674 crore earmarked for education, focusing on integrated residential schools, skill universities, and advanced technology centers.
- Infrastructure: Rs. 47,267 crore allocated for capital expenditure, emphasizing road construction, irrigation projects, and urban development.
- Six Guarantees: Adequate funds allocated for implementing flagship schemes like free bus travel for women, 200 units of free electricity, and Rs. 500 gas cylinders.
- Social Welfare: Significant allocations made for SC, ST, BC, and minority welfare, including Rs. 11,784 crore for SC welfare and Rs. 7,937 crore for ST welfare.
Some of the notable allocations include:
- Rs. 17,907 crore for urban development and municipal administration
- Rs. 12,759 crore for transportation
- Rs. 11,907 crore for law and order
- Rs. 6,000 crore for Rajiv Youth Development
- Rs. 500 crore for Godavari Pushkarams
The budget is expected to give a fillip to the state's development, with a focus on creating sustainable assets and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
