Dy CM denies revival of encounters with Maoists Hyderabad, Oct 20 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Tuesday strongly denied the allegations of opposition parties of revival of encounters with outlawed Maoists in the Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons in Warangal, Kadiyam said that the previous Congress regime killed Maoists on the pretext of holding talks. However, he said that the TRS Government does not believe in the politics of encounters or bloodshed.
He strongly condemned Congress and TDP leaders for targeting the TRS Government over prices of cotton. He said that the cotton prices are fixed by the Central Government and not the State. He said both the parties should pressurise the Centre to increase the cotton prices. He said that the State Government has already sent a letter to the Centre requesting for a hike in cotton prices.
Kadiyam also informed that the State Government was seriously considering payment of crop loan waiver dues at one go.
