"Trimurthy of liars" cheated Telugu people: Congress

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (INN): Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has alleged that the 'Trimurthy of Liars', comprising of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers N. Chandrababu Naidu and K. Chandrashekar Rao, has cheated the Telugu speaking people of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

Addressing a press conference, along with Deputy CLP leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, at the Congress Legislature Party office here on Friday, Shabbir Ali said that the Prime Minister had disappointed all the Telugus who expected some major announcements and sops on the occasion of foundation stone laying ceremony of Amravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. He said except for mentioning that he brought earth from Parliament and water from Yamuna River, Modi did not announce any package or gave any specific assurance on fulfillment of promises made in AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Shabbir Ali strongly condemned KCR's silence over PM's remarks that Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated in a haphazard manner. He said it took almost five years for the Congress party to build consensus on the bifurcation as all parties, including TDP, took a u-turn on Telangana issue. "KCR should have either boycotted the event or at least reacted on PM's remarks on bifurcation. By endorsing Modi's statement with his silence, KCR has insulted hundreds of martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana," he said.

He appealed to the people of Telangana, especially those participated in the statehood movement, to condemns KCR's behavior and seek his apology for this attitude.

Further, Shabbir Ali said KCR did not question Modi on the status of promises made with the people of Telangana which includes 4,000 MW power station, AIIMS at Bibinagar in Nalgonda, national project status for Pranahita Chevella and Railway Coach Factory at Qazipet among others.

Shabbir Ali accused KCR of laying Telangana's interest at the feet of Modi. "KCR and Naidu have come together as part of a hidden agenda to hush up 'Cash for Vote' and 'Phone Tapping' cases. We are aware of the entire deal and will expose the details of who liaisoned between them," he said.

However, he said that the Amravati's fete was a unique occasion as three biggest liars of the country shared the same dais. "All three of them - Modi, Naidu and KCR did not fulfill any of the poll promises they made with the people. The "Trimurthry of Liars" together cheated all Telugus on the pious occasion of Vijayadashami," he said adding that Naidu did not even mention in his speech about Special Status for AP. He said despite spending Rs. 400 crore, the Amravati's fete turned out to be a flop show as people of AP faced cheating while the self-respect of Telangana people was hurt by the Prime Minister.

He ridiculed Modi's appeal asking people of both States to shun differences. He claimed that the Telugu speaking people never had any differences, before or after the formation of Telangana. "Only KCR and Naidu have been fighting with each other only for personal gains. The people of both the States are still one," he said.

Meanwhile, addressing the same press conference, Ponguleti described Modi's remarks on AP's bifurcation as an insult to Parliament which extensively debated the Telangana issue. It was also an insult to all martyrs of Telangana. Modi, Naidu, KCR and also Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu acted in the "Amravati cinema" only to mislead the people. He said despite hundreds of farmers committing suicide in both the States, Modi did not utter a single word on farmers asking them not to commit suicide.

He also questioned KCR for not protesting over merger of Khammam villages with AP for the Polavaram project. He said that the Prime Minister did not speak anything on what he did to AP and Telangana during his rule. Instead, he tried to fool crores of people using trickery language, he alleged.
